In collaboration with Culture Perth and Kinross, the Institute for Northern Studies has created a programme of public lectures and seminars for 2024-25 that are open to the community in the Perth area.
The exciting programme has proved to be very popular. It brings seminars and talks to members of the public, students, and academics interested in Scotland’s history, culture, literature, and heritage. Sessions will highlight the amazing and sometimes surprising events, artefacts, and people who have inhabited the Scottish Highlands, islands, lowlands, and the wider diaspora worldwide.
Experts in the field will also discuss how their research contributes to our understanding of the overall processes that shape our society. In line with all research conducted at the Institute of Northern Studies, the planned workshops and talks will focus not only on the past but also on applying the lessons learned to inform our future.
There will be opportunities for deeper discussions on these topics, and we welcome input from the audience to enhance our understanding of the issues being examined.
